IT ALL BEGAN IN OUR KITCHEN
Napastäk, meaning "rabbit" in Armenian, was founded in 2014 by Lusine and Arthur Hartunian, an Armenian-American couple from southern California. Their first culinary foray was the development of a limoncello, crafted from Meyer lemons by hand in their home kitchen—with help from the whole family. When their experimental liqueur won international awards, the couple decided to dive into spirit-making full-time.
Out of their passion for craft spirits and cocktails, the couple started Napa Valley Distillery in 2009. The first distillery in the city of Napa since Prohibition. Immersed in Napa’s abundant culture of fine food, wine, and dining, a new idea began to percolate. They wanted to create a shop which would enable people to bring a piece of the luxurious napa experience home with them. Thus Napastäk was born.
Lusine is an avid home cook and the mastermind behind many of Napastäk’s unique flavors. She likes to say that “in every recipe, the main ingredient is the chef.” It’s not about how masterful of a cook you are, it’s about the joy derived from crafting a gorgeous meal and sharing it with those you love.
In the last decade, Napastäk has come a long way, winning awards such as the Best Of Napa County and Top 10 from Restaurant Guru. Today, Lusine, Arthur, and the whole Napastäk team strive to deliver unique and joyful culinary morsels and experiences to their visitors and community. Stop by the boutique to experience it for yourself.
“In every recipe, the main ingredient is the chef.”

OUR PHILOSOPHY OF GATHERING
As they were creating Napastäk, Lusine and Arthur were inspired by the Napa countryside they call home and its prominent culinary culture. But they were equally inspired by their Armenian heritage, which has a strong tradition of food and feasting. Gathering around a table with friends and family, enjoying a moment of community and joyous dishes is at the very heart of their ethos and business. Stay tuned for updates and programs dedicated to the art of “gathering.”
